Peoples to donate $10 for every shot on goal this season

As if you needed another reason to root for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Peoples Natural Gas and the Pittsburgh Penguins announced some great news today. They reached a major partnership agreement that will result in increased fundraising for Dollar Energy Fund.

The multi-year agreement, which makes Peoples a Founding Partner at CONSOL Energy Center, includes a new “Peoples Gate,” at the corner of Fifth Avenue, as well as promotional concepts that will benefit both Penguins fans and Peoples customers.

One of those concepts will  support the local limited-income community and the thousands of families and individuals Dollar Energy Fund helps each year. As part of its “continuing commitment to the community,” Peoples created a “Shots For Warmth” program that will donate $10 to Dollar Energy Fund for every shot on goal by the Penguins at home games this season.

“The Penguins are excited to welcome Peoples as a Founding Partner and a gate naming rights holder,” said Terry Kalna, senior vice president of sales and broadcasting for the Penguins. “Peoples shares our core values and is deeply committed to being a good community partner. These two new initiatives – the “Shots For Warmth” program and the ticket giveaway – are just a few examples of the things that we can do to energize our fans and positively support the community.”
