Pittsburgh EggFest raises $2,600 for Dollar Energy Fund

On Saturday, July 25, 2015, Dollar Energy Fund attended Hearth & Home Furnishing’s EggFest at Moraine State Park. Not only do we support Hearth & Home Furnishing and partner with them for the Warm Your Hearth, Touch a Heart campaign, which will take place this year Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, but we were also the grateful recipient of the EggFest’s raffle proceeds.

Hearth & Home held the seventh annual Pittsburgh EggFest from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and welcomed owners and enthusiasts of “The Big Green Egg” to cook competitively for family, friends and attendees of the event. Hearth & Home Furnishings, which stocks and sells the Big Green Egg out of its Zelienople, Pa., office, held a raffle for a large Big Green Egg grill and table ($1,896 value) at the event, then donated all proceeds to Dollar Energy Fund.

On behalf of the many families we will be able to help, we gratefully accepted a $1,300 donation from Hearth & Home. We would like to particularly thank Nancy, Megan and Laura at Hearth & Home for donating the egg and allowing us to participate in the event.

We would also be remiss without thanking Peoples Gas, which generously agreed to match the proceeds from the EggFest raffle. With a match from Peoples, Dollar Energy Fund received $2,600 from the event, which will help approximately eight local families restore or maintain safe utility service.
