Board of Directors Meeting Recap – August 2016

Last week, on Friday, August 12, we held our August Board of Directors Meeting at Dollar Energy Fund’s Pittsburgh office. We filled our large conference room with almost all of our board members, as well as Dollar Energy Fund management and staff.

Our board is comprised of business and community leaders from across the region. They are a diverse team made up of lawyers, communication professionals, non-profit leaders, utility representatives and other professions; all with a common interest of governing and supporting the interests of Dollar Energy Fund.

The Board of Directors meets six times a year to discuss the happenings at Dollar Energy Fund, approve upcoming actions of the organization and provide guidance for the future. Last week, we welcomed Paul Atencio, Lynn Brennan, Ralph Monico and Roxanne Squillante as our new board members. We are grateful to have them on our team!

First, our Board President, Ron Giulianelli, welcomed everyone and encouraged those present to introduce themselves. The board then approved the minutes from the previous meeting. Next, Dollar Energy Fund’s CEO Chad Quinn gave his report on national, state, and internal issues. He discussed his leadership role in the National Energy and Utility Affordability Coalition (NEAUC), as well as its involvement with LIHEAP Action Month.

Dollar Energy Fund’s CFO Nick Meddis proposed the budget for the upcoming program year for approval and also discussed the current cash flow figures year to date.

We also heard reports from the development and nominating committees. We discussed upcoming events, such as the Annual Luncheon, which is coming up on Friday, September 9, and the Cool Down for Warmth fundraiser, which is now accepting donations and will take place on January 26 and 27, 2017.
